MY STORY

From a young age I was immersed into art from my attendance at a performing arts school. My family always saw the best in me from a young age and for the most part encouraged my talents. Attending a performing arts elementary school really helped me create a foundation for who I am. Yet, growing up I still got away from my artistic capabilities due to peer pressure and single parent childhood. Although, my guardians did their best to allow me to have a lighthearted childhood. At times, as many of us have experienced, I was jolted out of that happy place into reality. Somehow, I still found ways to express my creativity and loop it into my life over the years. Even if it was something simple like memorizing dance moves from music videos, learning to sing just like the R&B singers on the radio, obsessing over Bratz dolls and Barbies or constantly doodling. My first love is performing arts. I love singing, acting and dancing. One day I hope to record at least one album with live performances.

Update : I have begun that journey by FINALLY releasing a single “BaeWatch” ! Add it into your mix and check out the matching merch!

It wasn’t until high school that I fully threw myself back into art though. I was in GLEE club and even became the president my Senior year. I was also a part of the Fashion Club. I was pleasantly surprised to find out how much I love aesthetics! I threw myself into clothing design just to see what I was made of. I surprised myself and the entire school! I literally have a video record of my last high school fashion show on my Youtube channel! Check it out!

As I shifted into my adult life, I found that my passion for fashion was specific to creative direction. I love creating “moods” and “looks” to be captured during photo and video shoots more than actual garment design & construction. Creative direction has been a big part of my young adult life. I’ve had the pleasure to work on projects fresh out of high school, where I’ve hand picked and directed people to function as models, planned and executed photo and video shoots for myself and others alike. I’ve done creative consulting for friends and associates. So even if I’m not on set, it’s still great to have my meticulous eyes on your team! Initially my college majors were in Business & Marketing. So even though I haven’t finished in either and have even sought out other fields to study, I still have a passion and natural inclination for both topics. I’ve even helped others plan, organize, manage and create their social media content. Although I love directing and calling shots, as you can see (all over my website and other platforms) I work just as great in front cameras as I do behind the scenes! Since childhood, I’ve also dipped and dabbed in modeling. Along with music and fashion this is another aspect I continue to explore and play with. I’m also the self published author of children’s book “Kitten Creates Couture”. Signed copies & merch can be purchased directly through my big cartel site for now! Just locate the link in a blogpost or on one of my social platforms.

Outside of my talents, I like to think of myself as a social butterfly. I love sharing myself with other people! However, over the years this part of me has become increasingly challenged. From 2017-2020 I had a spiritual awakening which led me to embark on a journey of deep reflection. Even though I had a strongly involved childhood in Christian churches, this spiritual awakening started the process of healing what felt like a decade of life experiences and generational traumas. In 2020 there was a spiritual renaissance that inspired me to began sharing my perspective of healing myself and others through social media. Without having a spiritual foundation, I could never continue to be a creator, an artist and a vibrant light. To interact with me from a spiritual perspective, I encouraged you to plug into my alternative platform : The Magik Mirror.

It’s my hope if you’ve made it to the end of this introduction you see : so many people have been a part of my creative journey and life by teaching, inspiring, providing opportunities or even just rubbing off their best parts on me. Over the years, I’ve been constantly told that “I do too much” , “I’m not focused” , “I’m lost” and so many other negative things. For years I’ve mostly seen people who refuse to support and acknowledge what I AM doing, seek to diminish my light and refrain from giving me flowers by showing up for me in any other way besides hating, critiquing, borrowing, stealing and copying. Yet, I still show up to work and seek to get the job done! The path I have is my own. Deeper than DNA. It’s soul work, God given & driven! Not influenced or borrowed, not copied and pasted. I’ve always been a performer, a talent, an artist. I’ve always been photogenic since a kid. I’ve been into fashion and beauty. I’ve been writing. I’ve been in love with music. I’ve been spiritual. I’ve always been ME. Everything along the way has been/is reminders and guides on my unique destiny! I think that’s important to see and know as a reader, in times where influence is such a big deal : NOT EVERYTHING IS AN INFLUENCE/Byproduct of someone or something. Even more so I hope this encourages you to see the big picture in your own journey as well as how unique you are. How free you are from having to “copy&paste” or follow so closely behind what anyone is doing because it seems “right”. This is a lifetime’s work and journey that we’re on and the best way to fulfill it is to explore and expand.
