Kitten Creates Couture

Kitten Creates Couture is my children’s book. I drafted it up in 2017. Talented artist, ShaBria Cousin Reed, took my rough draft and illustrated the book. I am mostly fluent in Spanish, so I also translated the book with the help of some friends in the Latin community. Then it was self published in January 2018. I created a mini book tour for myself, traveling throughout the southern region of the Unites States. The book circled from Mississippi, Alabama, Texas and back to my hometown of Baton Rouge, LA.

Kitten Creates Couture is a small piece of my story inspired by my time in high school (and some of college) spent at the sewing machine uncovering what’s now developed into a passion for creative direction. It’s a story about dreaming big, but making small victories to get there. It’s something that I hope to read to my little girl one day. Its special because I’ll never forget how cool little girls thought this book was when traveling on the road with it.
